Embroidery is a millennia-old art form, practiced predominantly by women and passed down from mother to daughter. The craft has morphed and adapted over time as new technologies have influenced it, and the growth of artificial intelligence and computational creativity have the potential to once again transform this handcraft — as you can see with Hoopla, a HUMANS NEED NOT APPLY exhibit that uses an AI system to design embroidery sampler patterns that are then hand-stitched. Lovelace Space is teaming up with the Science Gallery for this workshop.
The workshop is free, but bookings are essential. Book your place on the Science Gallery website here.
